New York based designer Siki Im presented his Spring 2012 collection inspired by the globalization’s political implication of the Arab Spring. Im’s collection themed, The Topography of Globalization, marrying Middle Eastern elements and Western silhouettes, gave way to some American Sportswear and East meets West sophistication. Clean lines and sleek tailoring, layered tunics, and intellectual urban chic filled the sixth floor warehouse on Varick Street. Im also introduced his DEN IM line, a capsule collection of denim with washes that resembled the deterioration of the environment due to the war in the Middle East. Im also brought George Cox on board, collaborating with two styles of creepers. The collection was smart, chic and true to the label’s trademark.
