Sally LaPointe’s SS13 collection was a play on man made versus nature. After taking some time off a season prior, Sally began photographing nature. Stumbling upon a submarine base in Russia, she became inspired by the blend of natural elements and the watercraft. Her jumpsuits were shown in variations of marble, as flowing dresses were in other natural colors of taupe and steel. Leather appeared in Sally’s collection as well, incorporating the fall fabric in peplums and on details of other pieces. Her challenge of making leather wearable all year round was definitely accomplished, and her reflection of hard and soft showed through beautifully with this collection. Sally LaPointe never disappoints me.
