Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez’s burst of energy, zigzagging patterns, and delicious pops of color for the Proenza Schouler fall 2014 collection was what Alexander Wang should have been this season. McCollough and Hernandez came up with a slew of words surrounding the New York presentation that they printed on press notes for the show including, “Energy, Abstraction, Humor, Color, Instinct, and Spontaneous.” Spontaneity was definitely present as Flintstone and Composition Notebook prints strolled down the runway. “It’s about having fun,” explained Hernandez. That’s exactly it. The collection was fun and full of life with an injection of fashion that is unparalleled.
