“I know it sounds mental, but sometimes I have more fun vegging out than when I go partying. Maybe because my party clothes are so binding.” Cher, you are so right! Why spend your days suffocating yourself in uncomfortable clothes when you can wear everything oversized and casual? The weekend is here so instead of rocking for those wretched tight jeans, shop for boyfriend jeans, right this way. The big star of big jeans happens to be Current/Elliott. The denim brand has the perfect styles in all the basic washes. It’s about time every girl own a pair, because boyfriend jeans are the new classic.
No. 21 is without a single flaw. The pre-fall 2014 collection features neon — which I am elated to finally see this season. Sequin pants in fetching colors make me fond even though I hadn’t any desire to don them previously. It really is quite fetching. Platform trainers with floral pencil skirts and feather embellished frocks were just bits of perfection. No. 21 was grunge glam, preppy, boyish, and urban chic all wrapped up in one cohesive collection.
Pre-fall for Marni means gearing up in fur, sheepskin, and voluminous layers. Floral prints, brocades, and plaid patterns played up the 2014 collection and were paired with fun footwear with metallic cap toes. Marni’s eccentric ensembles of bold colors and peculiar shapes are definitely for the oversize lovers and layer queens. I presume we will be seeing more women in wide-legged trousers this coming season.
GLOSSYBOX is the largest beauty subscription service in the world, and the global leader in luxury beauty sampling. Last month I received a beautifully packaged high-end gift box, filled with fabulous samples that appeared nearly full-size. When I think of samples I imagine teeny-tiny bottles, but GLOSSYBOX delivers the good stuff. Their subscriptions are also fantastic, starting at $21 for a Monthly Subscription, you’ll get 5 luxury beauty products delivered right to your door. Each GLOSSYBOX also comes with a card detailing the items included, and the price for the full-size item.
Featured below is what I received. I have tried and loved each product as they were perfect for me. Using Michael Todd’s mask was great, mostly because I enjoy doing masks once a week and this was a refreshing addition to my ritual. Showering was fun afterwards, as I got to lather up with Anatomicals’ rose fragrant body wash, that smelled so pretty. Naobay’s moisturizer felt invigorating on my skin and is now part of my beauty routine. I’ve yet to try Ardency Inn’s eyeliner, but I did use the nails inc. polish multiple times! Take a look at the Instagram photos I snapped below. Also, I’ll be holding a giveaway on my next GLOSSYBOX post. Stay tuned…
Thakoon’s lady looks as if she has been borrowing clothes from her boyfriend this season, as he incorporated traditional menswear elements into his pre-fall 2014 collection. Intermeshing classic womenswear with reworked men’s sweaters, collared shirts, and below-the-knee pleated pants was Thakoon’s take on sartorial gender play. “Everything was working off this menswear idea but twisted and turned into something more feminine,” says Thakoon. Twisted indeed. Garments were twisted and knotted and made into dresses and layered tops. Even Thakoon’s one arm oversized knit was classic and edgy, also one of my favorite pieces.
