5 Balloon-Sleeve Tops To Buy Now

As much as I love a good statement sleeve, I honestly didn’t think this style would suit me. I’ve tried ruffles in the past, and that was a bust. But after watching balloon-sleeve tops rise in popularity on Instagram, I had to give them a shot. I popped into Zara the other day to peruse their latest fast-fashion items, and fell onto a rack of fabric (not literally). From gingham and stripes to check-printed wraps, I had my pick at voluminous options. The thing about trends like these is, you have to jump on them while they’re hot, and this one is on fire! I leaned into a red striped blouse to compliment the spray tan I received earlier that day from Vita Liberata, and singlehandedly transformed into ‘Carmen Miranda‘. I might just be…

How To Donate Makeup To Women In Need

It has been an entire week since I last posted, and for that, I apologize. I was so swamped with meetings and events, but I am back and ready to offer up a good deed! This week, I wanted to touch on something that is dear to my heart. I recently had the opportunity to work with Estée Lauder on a campaign to promote their Pure Color Envy collection. As part of the campaign, I received a gift of 130 lip products. Now, as you can imagine, that is more than anyone can ask for—let alone need. Hosting a giveaway or even having my friends take their pick was on the list of things to do, but I felt I needed to do something more. I’ve decided to donate most of the collection, along…

Spring Staples

There is something about a tailored trench coat that is so chic to me. Whether with rouged sleeves or worn over the shoulders, I am really digging this trend. You’ve seen me style my ASOS Crepe Duster Trench in a previous post, and I have been making excuses to wear it ever since. Yesterday was a really long day for me, so I wanted to wear something comfortable, yet sleek. I opted for espadrilles to carry me through my day, along a look by AG Jeans. A simple white tank and blue jeans are definitely my spring staples, including a fabulous hat. I’d love to know what some of your staples or must-have items for spring are. Let me know in the comments below. Shop The Post   Fedora: Bailey Hats / Trench Coat:…

How to Start a Blog + A Free Checklist

Back in 2008, my blog was born. It was actually on November 25th (a few days after turning 25) that I launched LeCityKitty.com. After losing my retail job, during a time when the economy was failing, I felt lost. I went to college for Graphic Design at The Art Institute of New York, but I had zero desire to fulfill that career. During college, I had a number of fashion jobs—ranging from sales to styling, but I wasn’t sure where I was going. Around that time, a friend suggested I create a blog. Even though I had no idea what a blog was, I figured it out. Back then; Apple had a program called iWeb, which is what I used to create my platform. Le City Kitty started out as an online portfolio for…

How I Removed My Cellulite, For Good

Discovering cellulite on my body for the first time was absolutely horrible. I remember shopping at a department store with my GBF and his boyfriend, when we were picking out jeans for my birthday. I stepped into the fitting room to try them on, and there it was! Between the harsh lighting and the fact that I was sadly getting older, I broke out in tears. I will never forget how horrified I was. It was truly a wakeup call that I would never be 29 again, and I had to squat for the rest of my life. I very naively thought I was impervious to cellulite, but I was wrong. In my twenties, I rarely had the need nor desire to work out, and why should I? I had a naturally svelte figure…
