Monthly Favorites: April’s Best Beauty Finds

Monthly Favorites: April 2014 #lecitykitty

Last night, I had a very in-depth text conversation with my best friend’s about our skin and bodies, and how they’ve been misbehaving due to using the wrong beauty products. Unlike my girls, I am lucky enough to receive the best stuff on the market. I’ve tried it all! From trending moon masks to interesting shampoos that claim to unwash your hair. I wouldn’t say I’m an expert, but through the years I have done lots of damage to my skin. I’ve popped and picked my face for so long, but have finally found a few solutions that work for me. Each month I will be providing my favorite products, tried and true. Below are this month’s favorites.

April’s best beauty finds

1. Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion
I had a really bad habit of picking at my face anytime I discovered a new blemish. I finally had to stop and leave my skin alone, no matter what! What I did was replace my scaring finger nails with an exfoliator that polishes away dead skin cells, leaving my skin fabulously radiant. Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion has really helped clear my skin and improved my scars.

2. Tangle Teezer
This little brush is the best hair tool I have ever used to untangle my locks. I toss it in my bag and whip it out on super windy days. It’s really amazing and super easy to clean. I always get grossed out when I see my boar bristle brushes full of lint and dust when would go to use them. Well, out with the boar in with the Tangle Teezer. Trust me, you’ll love it, too!

3. Ouidad Color Sense Shampoo and Conditioner
I’ve gone from blonde to brunette recently, and for anyone who has ever died their hair, you know how important it is to preserve your color. Ouidad’s Shampoo has a blend of Apricot Oil and Honey that nourish and replenish hydration, and it’s Conditioner softens hair while protecting it from environmental exposure and damage that cause color to fade; an unbeatable duo that has saved my hair’s luster.

4. First Aid Eye Duty Triple Remedy
I have used many eye creams that declare to depuff your eyes, however none like First Aid’s Eye Duty Triple Remedy. I swear by this product because of its unique stainless steel applicator. The cool metal instantly reduces puffiness, while the tinted Triple Remedy brightens the entire eye area. In no time, I am given the appearance of being awake and refreshed, even though I am dying to go back to bed.

5. Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser
Typically, I like to alternate between face washes, especially when using an exfoliater like Dr. Brandt’s Microdermabrasion. Boscia’s Detoxifying Black Cleanser is a bit more gentle on my skin. An effective lather will dissolve oil and makeup, rinsing away pore-clogging surface debris, and impurities. I love the warming sensation when I apply it to my skin. So far, it has helped shrink my pores.

6. Aila 3-in-1 Nail Color Remover
It may be a rare occasion when I actually do my own nails, but when I do, I use Aila’s 3-in-1 Nail Color Remover. I recently gave myself a pedicure at home, since I had no time to visit the salon, and removed some old polish. The first thing I’d like to mention about this product is that it does not seem like nail polish remover at all. There is no harsh smell, no filmy residue, in fact the Pure Argan Oil conditions your cuticles as you go. Above all, it’s 100% natural.

7. First Aid Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm
If you didn’t know, I am in my 30’s. I have been increasingly concerned about aging since my 32nd birthday, particularly around my eyes. I haven’t noticed any changes, but perhaps it’s because I am using First Aid’s Eye Duty Triple Remedy Overnight Balm. The eye treatment counteracts key visible signs of aging for both the under-eye area and upper eyelid. I hope to have youthful eyes for a very long time!

8. Rituals Yogi Flow Shower Gel
The relaxing aroma of sweet almond oil and Indian rose make showering a whole new relaxing experience. I received a full-size bottle of Rituals Yogi Flow Shower Gel in a Glossybox package. The gel transforms into a rich, nurturing foam on contact with water, making for a lavish experience. Bath time is important to me because it’s one of the few de-stressing moments I get. Rituals helps me woosah the day’s negativity.

9. Argentum Apothecary La Lotion Infinie Body Cream
After my shower I love to lather myself in Argentum Apothecary’s rich body cream. The La Lotion Infinie Body Cream leaves my skin intensely hydrated, soft and even-toned. It’s a bit pricey, but worth every penny! I’m on my second bottle and my skin is thankful for it.

  • I’ve heard really great things about the first aid eye duty triple remedy. I’ll add this to my list of beauty buys.
