Introducing: Beauty Blogger Aurielle Sayeh

Aurielle

Hi girls, I am the new Contributing Beauty Blogger of Le City Kitty. I am a pretty simple and natural girl at heart, but I have this underlying secret obsession for beauty supplies and makeup. In my eyes the key to looking your best and saving money is to buy and use only what you need. Less is more. Living in New York City during the winter and traveling all the time isn’t easy, but here are a few of my favorite winter beauty products and trends that I am excited about this year.

I have naturally black hair, and while it is very striking, I love to switch it up sometimes, especially during the winter when all the blondes begin to dye their hair dark. This winter I went back to ombré hair, but something I’m diggin’ lately is ombré with lavender or pink at the ends where blonde would typically be. Pastels are so pretty and this look is a conservative way to achieve this color trend, without the big commitment. I hope to try this look in a few weeks using Manic Panic‘s temporary color, ‘Lie Locks‘.

A life saver for me during the winter time is DRY SHAMPOO! It gets me between washes and blow dries when I am busy or traveling. Living in a city like New York (or any place that’s cold when you’re a girl on the go) the last thing you want to do is leave the house with wet hair as you would easily do in the summer. I prefer the brand Batiste (around $8 at Duane Reade or CVS) which is a dry shampoo spray that also doubles as a root lifter and provides volume. It also smells really great, and comes in a variety of scents.

Another great alternative I use is Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo from Sephora ($11 for the travel size). There are larger sizes but the 1 oz bottle will last you for months. It is pretty easy to use, you just rub a dime size amount onto your roots. You can use it to add volume or use it when you’re between washes. This is the best powder I have ever used for dark hair, because even though it’s white it still does the job! It blends right in after rubbing the product into your hair.

Lastly, my most favorite winter must have is Korres Lip Butter from Sephora. At $12 this lip balm seems a bit pricey, but I have had my jars for about 8 months, they last and are kept perfectly. The best colors for winter are Pomegranate, Wild Rose, and Plum. The Wild Rose and Plum have a light tint that adds a winter bite to your lips. The “vamp” bitten look in the winter time is so rad because it adds the extra color and pop you need during paler times.

I am so excited to be the new Contributing Beauty Editor! As a model and a performer beauty goes hand in hand with fashion and being a strong, confident lady. It doesn’t always mean having a face full of make-up caked on, but for me, sometimes just taking an extra 10-30 minutes to do something for yourself, to enhance your favorite attributes or to add that extra kick in your step, can help you crush your day. I have a VIB (Very Important Beauty Insider) card (free.99) from Sephora and every time I make a purchase I gain more points, and after obtaining a certain amount of points you earn free samples! Samples help you try new items before you buy them… so I suggest the next time you are at Sephora, pick a VIB card!
