Christopher Bailey may have wanted Burberry Prorsum to allude “a soft embrace and a cuddle” this spring, but his romantic (and borderline pinup) collection suggested otherwise. Christopher’s dainty doily pencil skirts over 1940s hip-high panties were a Southern Belle’s wet dream. Dusty rose, lavender, and powder blue ensembles were accompanied by candy colored shoes and leather clutches embellished with flowers. Trickling into grays, stripes, and dots too, Christopher reintroduced Burberry’s signature trench. But in the end, cocktail dresses and skirts covered in large lavish stones were no match for Cara Delevingne in Christopher’s finale. Wearing a transparent plastic raincoat, Cara knocked ’em dead.
