I will give you a dollar if you guess my age. I play this game often because I know it is one I will win. For the record, I am 35. That’s right, I was born in 1982―which means, I graduated high school in 2000. While I am blessed with fantastic Latin genes, I am not perfect (nor do I wish to be). But, at my age, I have started to notice the signs of aging. There are some who wish to age naturally, however I am not one of those people. I am all for enhancements and prolonging the process of wrinkles, as long as you do so safely. With that said, I thought it wise to offer up my experience with Botox and fillers, again. I previously told you about plumping my lips, but I have since experimented with many more options to preserve my youth.
Freezing the muscles on your face might sound like a scary process to some, and it was to me at the very beginning. I have gotten questions like, “Does it hurt?”, “How long will it last?” and “Is it worth it?”. The answers? It hurts a little, but if you are numb long enough, you might not feel a thing. Depending on the product you use and your metabolism, these products can last a very long time. And yes, it is worth it! I have never left a doctors office regretting my choice. I am always happy that returned to my 27 year-old self, because at my age I am thrilled to look young again. Also, did you know that Botox is the most common cosmetic procedure? Not that I am trying to encourage you, but gaining some information might take away your fear.
What does it do?
What Botox does is, it freezes the muscles in certain areas, putting your wrinkles to sleep. So, when you make an expression that would typically form wrinkles, you won’t detect any fine-lines. It’s honestly like magic! In the diagram above, you will see I received injectables around my eyes, my frown lines, and on my forehead. I do not have an eternally surprised face, like some think Botox and fillers would cause. I also had my jawline contoured. This procedure had nothing to do with anti-aging. I simply didn’t like my marionette lines (which are similar to jowls). How I decided to do this was purely out of curiosity. I asked my doctor, Dr. Gladstein, how she could remedy this area, and if it was even possible. After learning that it was a simple fix, I went for it!
Dr. Gladstein helped enhance my face. She filled my lips and gave me the pout I’ve been seeking for years. If you are in the market for a recommendation in New York, I would suggest you give her office a call. I really hope you enjoyed this post, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask me in the comments below. Thank you so much for stopping by!
