At the risk of falling into the cliché pattern of what Valentine’s Day has become, with all the red and pink there is hovering over the holiday, I have decided to make a clean slate. Clean slate as in nothing; no color, no pink, no red, no cupid, and definitely no chocolate. I came across a photo of Cathrine Nörgaard for Friday Magazine from December 2011 that really inspired me. As she stands there, bare bottom, in her short white fur and long platinum blonde hair, she holds a bouquet of white roses collapsing in her arms.
It all seemed so refreshing to me. I mean, I know I am going against modern times, but after all the Winged God of Desire wore white. As for my tribute to the holiday? I have given you here, my slight modification of romance, in creams and whites. Below are my recommendations pour votre amant ou vous-même (for your lover or yourself) as a gift guide. I hope you all have a lovely, sex-filled Valentine’s Day!

Things base and vile, holding no quantity, love can transpose to form and dignity. Love looks not with the eye, but with the mind, and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind. —Shakespeare
