Adventures in Texas with Nine West

Adventures in Texas #lecitykitty

After a much anticipated wait, I finally made it to South by Southwest last week. Prior to, I previewed what I was packing for my trip, and posted a few updates on Instagram and Snapchat. If you missed any of that, not to worry, I have tons to tell you about my adventures in Texas with Nine West and Nylon Magazine!

The morning of my flight, I met with a few New York bloggers to grab a super early flight out to Austin. I was really excited to get there, but a little bummed about the predicted weather of heavy rain. When we arrived, there was only a light drizzle, so we walked around in search of some grub.

I spotted a shaved ice truck that may have belonged to Vanilla Ice, and artist John Yancey’s “Rhapsody” mosaic mural. After some wandering, we ended up at Blue Dahlia Bistro for brunch. Later, I headed to the Sheraton Austin Hotel, where we were staying, for some light work and R&R. I may have arrived with two other bloggers, but Nine West included several others, too. In the evening we all gathered for bites and drinks at a local restaurant called, Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill.

Wednesday I was a mess! Since it was my first time in Texas I was unaware of it’s crazy allergy season. I have never experienced anything like it, so I stayed in bed all day trying to get some rest. I felt bad that I missed a beautiful day with the girls, but I wasn’t going to let the nightlife escape me.

When 7pm arrived I was ready for another evening of dinning. We all headed to Benji’s Cantina for delicious Mexican food. For this, I wore shorts by Style Stalker, a v-neck tee by Nation LTD, and a fedora by Lack of Color, along with my neon Proenza Schouler bag.

My last day in town I went around snapping photos for my travel diary, and was captured in front of Austin’s historic mural on Sixth Street wearing a cut-out dress by Style Stalker, Lack of Colorfedora, and Rebecca Minkoff’s ‘Julian’ fringe backpack in navy (as seen above). After trotting around, I stopped for breakfast at the lovely 1886 Café & Bakery with another blogger. I then returned to my room to pack and set out back home. I had a terrific time, even though I was sick, and will most definitely be returning to Texas next year!
