I recently worked with Glam on their February Edition, “Date Night in My City“, where a few bloggers from 6 major cities wrote about their favorite date night restaurants and bars. I offered up an eclectic array of spots just to keep things interesting. Dating in New York is hard enough, so when you’ve finally snagged a potential beau, finding a place to rendezvous should be the easiest part of the process. Here’s the dish on the 6 coolest date-night hangouts in NYC. I’ve done all the planning for you—just focus on getting your romance on this Valentine’s Day and beyond.
48 West 17th Street, New York
Looking forward to a steamy night? The Raines Law Room will grant your wish. Its stylish speakeasy vibe, its chill atmosphere, and its plush lounge make it a hidden gem.
Brooklyn Bridge Park, Dock St., Brooklyn
I love to keep it low-key at Jane’s Carousel in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn. Take a romantic spin on the carousel, and then hit the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory for some delicious treats.
22-25 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City
If you’re into deep intellectual conversations—or just like to challenge your date, like I do—head to MoMA and get your geek on. The LIC locale features million-dollar views of Manhattan, and a trip here is a fantastic get-to-know-you icebreaker.
191 Chrystie Street #2F, New York
If you can find it (it’s hidden away on the Lower East Side), Freemans is a wonderful place for impeccable food (especially the steak) and chill vibes. Your date will surely give you cool points for this one.
308 Bleecker Street, Brooklyn
This is not your average bar. I say that because it’s covered in boobs. But if you’re looking for laughs and a place to play board games and drink beer, this is it. Bonus: You will definitely love the food.
