Did you know that thin eyebrows can make you look older? There’s something about full brows that are reminiscent of youth, you know, those days before over plucking took hold of your life. And if it wasn’t the incessant tweezing that made them sparse, then you may have suffered from medical conditions resulting in hair loss. But those days are over now! Here are my favorite DIY tricks to solving your thin-brow dilemma. Are you ready to grow your brows back?
1. Castor Oil
Castor oil is one of the most effective remedies to boost the growth of your eyebrows. It contains protein, vitamins, fatty acids and antioxidants that nourish the hair follicles and promote hair growth. Plus, it’s helpful in resisting any microorganisms that hinder brow growth.
Soak a cotton swab in pure castor oil and apply on each brow. Massage gently with fingertips for 2 to 3 minutes. Leave on for 30 minutes or overnight. Wash off with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. Repeat once daily for a few weeks until you notice improvement.
2. Coconut Oil
You must be sick of me talking about coconut oil, but its uses are endless! For full, lush eyebrows, you can definitely use coconut oil. The various proteins as well as nutrients like vitamin E and iron promote healthy and thick brows. It can also help make your eyebrows darker.
Dab a few drops of warm coconut oil on fingertips and apply on eyebrows. Massage gently for a few minutes to boost blood circulation. Leave on overnight. In the morning, rinse off with warm water. Do this daily for 1 to 2 months.
3. Olive Oil
I know it seem a bit weird, but olive oil is really good for your eyebrows. Being rich in vitamin E, like coconut oil, olive oil can help your brows grow thicker in no time! It will also help keep them looking lush, too.
Massage onto eyebrows for 5 minutes before going to bed. Leave on overnight, then rinse off with warm water in the morning. Alternatively, prepare a mixture of 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil and a few drops of honey. Apply it onto your brows and massage for a few minutes. Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse with warm water.
4. Egg Yolk
Eggs are a great source of protein that can help improve the health of your hair, which in turn will make your eyebrows thick by adding to the natural keratin protein in your brows.
Break 1 egg and separate yolk. Beat until you get a thick, creamy consistency. Apply on each brow with cotton swab. Leave on for 15 to 20 minutes, then wash off with cold water. Use this protein treatment once or twice a week until you are satisfied with the results.
5. Aloe Vera
Not only does aloe vera make your eyebrows grow faster and thicker, but it can even make the skin around your eyebrows very soft. Aloe vera has enzymes and moisturizing properties that nourish hair follicles back to health.
Extract gel from aloe vera leaf. Gently massage over brows. Allow to sit for 30 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. Another option is to prepare a paste with 1/2 teaspoon of aloe vera gel and a little honey or coconut oil. Apply to brows. Leave on for 30 minutes and rinse off with water. Follow either of these remedies once daily for several weeks for best results.
